Or perhaps you could get some of those remote control collars--the ones that give off electrical shocks, then remove the circuitry and put in lamp instead. Then when Arafel goes looking for missing lamp (or other equipment), she can turn on remote, and see who lets out a yelp when the touch lamp/equipment.

I'd love that. Catch the perp red-handed stealing my stuff... Even better would be some sort of unobtrusive add-on that would make a big noise when activated, and then I could just follow the noise.

heh heh. Like one of those personal alarms or something--ear shattering beeping.

Or put some sort of powder on the lamp, that when someone touches it, it leaves a residue on their hands, that is visible under an UV light.

You could have a little portable, and then go from person to person, waving the light over their hands.

Kinda like in those monster/alien movies, where each person is tested to see if they are the *creepie crawlie*.
