I have a nice new fashion accessory for the next 24 hours - a Holter monitor. After my father's scare in January and my mother's heart arrhythmias, I figured that getting a baseline wouldn't hurt. The nurse scrubbed the electrode attachment points with what felt like Brillo, so my neck is a world of ouch. :P

All three of my spanky new Love Drop doujinshi arrived within the last 24 hours. OMG pretty. But, I have to say that "Grey Rain" is kinda boring, maybe not so much if you can read it, but I can't read it.

Oh, and House last night? Let the shipper wars begin, because... yeah. The Odd Couple, anyone? Speaking of which, I'm going to "Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital" aka Frist Campus Center + Princeton U. Infirmary + Molecular Bio Building today for my friend's FPO.

Okay, so silly anime ranty stuff.

It's my dad's birthday in about a week.

So, what do we do but invite him and my mother over for dinner?

WHAT AM I, A FUCKING MASOCHIST? DIDN'T WE JUST LEAVE THIS PARTY?

Well, it does give husband the chance to watch the first F1 race of the season at 6 AM the next morning...

Phew. I feel like I've been on a treadmill since the middle of last week.

I think I'm the only person on my flist in the US who's not watching the Oscars.

Reason why? Didn't see any of the movies except March of the Penguins. I'm sorry I missed the plushie parade, though.

I'm selling off one of my retired costumes, so if any of you have an interest in cosplaying Tenten, please have a look!

eBay Auction for Tenten's jacket

Please be advised that I am not a professional seamstress, so what you see is what you get! But, I have tried to make this a nice garment all the same. :)

I go to CNN and see the headline: "Stunning finish in figure skating" or sommat like that.

Hmm, thinks I, maybe I'll watch that tonight.

I scroll further down the front page (mind you; not the Olympics page) and see a headline:

*SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER*

So much for watching that.

Figure skating fans, avoid the news if you want to watch the competition, because the media has no concept of "don't want to know yet."

Before I go through the trouble of listing these on eBay, does anyone want to buy:

Vols. 1 - 4 of Fruits Basket, brand-new condition: $15.00

Vol. 1 of Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, brand-new condition: $4.00

Vol. 1 of Chrono Crusade, brand-new condition: $4.00

First one who comments gets it; shipping costs determined by how much you want. Single books will ship for $2.00 via Media Mail, add $0.50 for each additional book.

Buy my shit! Please! :D

At this time tomorrow, [livejournal.com profile] jaina and I will be well on our merry way to Katsucon, though I anticipate we'll get stuck in traffic several times.

So much to do tonight. Brilliant me, I don't seem to have a handy paintbrush, so I have to spend valuable time heading out to Michael's so I can finish the 4th squad badge for Isane. (mebbe will go at lunch.) To add to that, my hakama still need to be ironed, and the two kimono could use a pressing as well. Oh, and the Seung Mina outfit too. :P Oh, and my "Anime: Crack is Cheaper" bag is missing. Again. Which is, like, my best bag for cons.

Argh.

Anyway, it should be a good time, if for no other reason that DC is a fun town and there are lots of good places to eat. Plus, [livejournal.com profile] buttercup022 has taken it upon herself to do some strenuous research and find the best bars.

And I am totally not looking forward at all to the potential for wanksplosions between cosplayers. I didn't make sure that my camera was cleaned off, nope. Didn't even check photoshoot times.

I am not a fan of sour cream.

Nor am I a fan of ranch dressing.

Then why is it, when sour cream is combined with ranch dressing mix in a bowl, does it turn into such pure and unadulterated bliss? The kind where the vegetable is merely a conveyance to get as much of it into your mouth at one time as possible?

God bless you, Hidden Valley.

squee!

Ordered violet contact lenses today for my Isane cosplay.

OMGsoexcited. I've always wanted to try colored lenses. My choices were somewhat limited, as only one manufacturer appears to make colored lenses that are strong enough for my prescription, but they were ordered today!

Have to go over to Ethicon for a bit. Am contemplating making a fast sneak to the fabric store before returning to work. XD

In this post, talk with your icons, and *only* your icons. Post early, post often, and respond to whomever you want. Just leave a dot or a dash in the comment field if LJ tells you you can't post a blank comment.

North Korean Anti-USA propaganda video

Fucking USA!

Either this was inspired by "America! Fuck Yeah!" or the other way around, because the similarity is there.

Weekend

*takes off rabbit ears*

Those hurt when you wear them long enough!

Some of you figured it out quickly, but for those of you who didn't, my last post was a complete lie. Jan. 27th was LiveJournal Rabbit Hole Day, so don't worry, I didn't suddenly get the baby rabies and head off to the nearest place of worship. I would have posted something over the weekend about it, but for some reason, I couldn't update LJ from my inlaws'.

It was my FIL's birthday this weekend, so we went for a visit. Nothing too interesting there. I did manage to get some cosplay done - [livejournal.com profile] jaina, your hakama are coming along fine; I got the front done and started in on the backboard piece. Got the Anna Williams outfit all piped as well, but now I have to work on getting that damn phoenix bird onto the leg before I can line it. Husband has offered to help make a big sketch that I can turn into a pattern. Not looking forward to that applique.

Finally watched Bleach 65. The animation quality has taken a real nosedive, but the fun of watching the boys act like idiots is outweighing that at the moment. Probably they had to get this filler arc animated in a hurry. Frankly, I'd prefer that they just take a hiatus for a while.

Back to work.
moonwise: (what the shit)
You know? I think I'd like to have babies. Lots and lots of babies! It'll be so cute to take them everywhere with me. Like to R-rated movies and to quiet libraries.

It might be about time to go back to church, too. I don't know how I've lived without God in my life. It was so empty and hollow. I was always worrying whether people liked me, but I won't have to worry about that any more, because Jesus loves me and so should you.

This whole career thing is for the birds, too. Whatever possessed me to go to grad school? It was seven years when I could have been having babies!

Also, all my anime friends? Sorry guys, but it's kind of a worthless hobby. You all can decide who's going to get my cosplays. [livejournal.com profile] jaina, you might have to get sewing lessons from someone else. I have to stay home because I'm ovulating that day.

Now I'm going to go home and read "Alice in Wonderland." Wheeeeee!
