Jun. 26th, 2002 10:42 amMy mother sends out chain letter-type spam. o_O I'm not sure how to tell her to quit sending them to me. Nothing personal, just please spare me yet another cutesy-poo mail about how angels are watching.
Husband comes home tonight after two days away in AC at some ladies' golf tournament. He said it was hot as hell out and he sounded tired when we spoke last night. It's nice to be home alone and play video games and eat chocolate cereal for dinner, but I miss him and it will be good to have him home again. At least I am free to talk on the phone some. *wink*
Still waiting for the word from Bernardsville VW about delivery of the new zoom zoom. With luck, hubby will have a message to that effect on his voice mail when he goes back to work tomorrow. Must get prepared to write a BFC to the dealer, but the bigger the BFC, the less the financing will be.
Something smells weird in the lab today and it is not our erstwhile labmate who seems averse to showers and deodorant. We were hoping that when he got married, his wife would dunk him in the shower on a regular basis, but that does not seem to be the case.
Off to work. It seems I will be spending a large portion of July out of the lab, which does not make me comfortable, but so it goes.

Date: 2002-06-26 08:05 am (UTC)Finally my dad said something, and she stopped. I know she just wanted to share things she found, and the interenet is a new thing for her, but... @_X Sometimes, a little common sense is required... (if you don't like getting junk mail in your mailbox, do you think others will like the virtual equivalent?)

*wink* <== for absolutely no reason! heh heh

Yep, I wrote a BFC myself last summer. But it's not so bad as a few years ago when interest rates where higher, but still... The less money I give to bank/financer in interest, the better for me. More mushrooms in my pocket. ;)

Perhaps when this odor-producing coworker has a b-day, everyone can chip in and get one of those car air-fresheners--the kind you hang on the rearview mirror--and just call it a necklace. Err.. Okay that would be mean.

Date: 2002-06-26 11:48 am (UTC)Indeed. The more the BFC is, the less you have to finance. I don't know what my rate is going to be. They were having a 0.9% finance rate for "qualified buyers," but I don't know whether I'm one of them yet. :)
We have considered leaving a stick of Right Guard on this fellow's desk, but no one has the cojones to do it yet. Hee hee. But man... how can you not bathe...

Date: 2002-06-26 07:01 pm (UTC)That's a tough one...if she were sending virus warnings that would be easy to deal with, but I'm not sure what to do about the cutesy-poo angels. Is your mom pretty new to e-mail? If you're desperate, I think I have an Anti-Chain Letter Chain Letter around somewhere. ;)
Congrats on the new zoom zoom!

Date: 2002-06-28 07:52 am (UTC)No, not working at home (though I should be.) Mostly, vacations and the like. Trip to Maine in about two weeks, yay!
And thanks for the deodorant link; we'd just looooove to order that. :)

Date: 2002-06-27 02:06 pm (UTC)This seems to be a standard thing among mothers
and offspring. My mother sent a few of the typical
"fwd" messages,my responce to her stopped it in it's
tracks. The messsage was:
I may be an asshole for saying this, but stop sending me
"fwd" messages. They are a perfect hiding place for virus'
and if i receive any more from you i will be forced to block
you from my approved list.
Thank you

hahaha! =) I haven't received any more of those types
of mail since. Of course she sent me a return mail saying
that i was an asshole. She so gets me..=)
