and I turn to the crowd as they're watching
they're sitting all together in the dark and the warm
and I wanted to be in there among them
I see how their eyes are all gathered into one
and she turns to me with her hand extended
palm is split with a flower with a flame

Date: 2002-05-08 02:17 pm (UTC)I'm the kind of music-listener who tends to be more lyrics-driven than beat or orchestration-driven. I like to listen to the words and I like to sing along. So, I'm likely to be swayed by thoughtful or storylike lyrics.
Guess that's why I like Tori Amos and musicals. :)

If you enjoy her lyrics, I highly recommend her book The Passionate Eye as well. It has lyrics, essays, journal entries. Great stuff.
