My husband and I really are assholes.

CQ is hubby's cousin; 23, pregnant and unmarried. She's also not the sharpest knife in the block. Has a longtime boyfriend.

Stuff we did not write on CQ's baby shower note:

"Hey flake! You made a mistake!" <== my suggestion

"We can't wait to see the new baby, we're sure he's a cute little bastard!" <== hubby's suggestion

Me: "How much do you want to spend on her gift? Is $50 or so enough?"

Hubby: "Didn't they give us $100 for our wedding?"

Me: "We can give them that much for their wedding as well... when they get around to getting married."

Also: Hubby's bro PQ and his g/f Ginger are planning the wedding... no proposal yet, but they're planning for September.

Hubby: "They're planning a September wedding."

Me: "Aren't we going to Arizona?"

Hubby: "Yeah... well I'm going to my brother's wedding (me: of course) but I'm going to be pretty pissed off if it costs us $610 in plane tickets. Might have to think about that with the wedding gift."

Me: (laughing) you're awful.
