Back from DC. Had a very nice way wining and dining through the city. It seems ironic that although Katsucon was being held close enough to DC that I saw a Sango on the Metro, I wasn't there for the con.

What rocked: Freer Gallery of Art with its collection of Far Asian art. Finally seeing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution up close and personal.

What didn't: The Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. I was hoping for an interesting collection of artifacts and perhaps some discussion of the culture that made them. Instead it's the Cherokee Hair Tampon South Park ep all over again. Inasmuch as part of Native American culture extends to selling gullible white people silver trinkets, I guess it's a success.

Samurai Champloo 22 dl'ed. Too tired to watch tonight.

Time for another bath. I'm gimping around the apartment like an eighty-year-old with terminal arthritis.

*grins* I seem to know a lot of otaku in the MD/VA area. This was an outing with my husband, though.

I think that [livejournal.com profile] ramothhe told me that the Metro went right to where the con was being held. Certainly she was close enough that their group went touring DC during the downtime.

::blinks:: Oh, no no, I figured as much! lol It was just surprising to see someone from my F-list visiting the area. I'm always shocked by how small the world actually is.

REALLY?! And I seriously had absolutely no clue. Of course, last time I went to Katsucon it was being held in Richmond, I fink? That might explain why I thought it was so far away. Welp, looks like that con is a go for me next year! ^_^ Metro here I coooome!

I think Katsu's been held in Arlington for a couple years running now, but it's not something I've paid all that much attention to. Definitely might think about going to Katsu next year depending on whether Ohayocon is a go next year. Certainly it's cheaper to drive somewhere than it is to fly, and a lot of ppl I know seemed to be going.
