Here they are! I picked the tsukesage up for a song - it was so pretty that I couldn't imagine why no one had bid on it. The obi is antique, and the only one I've seen that goes with my kurotomesode, which seems to have an odd color scheme. Alas, I didn't bring the kurotomesode down from the attic... some other time. ;)

I am so coming over your house for obi-tying lessons. ^_^ Did you teach yourself? *awe*

I suppose it's all in what you're used to! Dalby writes about how one of the older geisha complained about how tight her waist got in a Western skirt after a big meal, and how she could fit so much more under a nice wide obi. Dalby herself lost weight in kimono because she found it so restrictive. So, there you have it.

Also, it probably has to do with how much one likes playing dress-up, which I greatly like to do. ^_^

*grins* Small wonder you don't like kimono, then, since it's all fuss and no ease.

Man, I wish I could wear army pants and a T-shirt to work, but we're not even permitted to wear jeans. :P

heh, true that about computer sci people - if you're not bohemian, there's something wrong with you.

Oh, but didn't you know you're not supposed to wear pants because the boys like to see you in a skirt? :P I've been told never to wear pants to an interview. So annoying. You never know, maybe you'll never have to put Ann Taylor or something similar on the shopping list... save you a lot of money. -_-;;
