MP3s of the week
Jan. 7th, 2003 12:33 pmFor 15 years - no exaggeration - I have been looking for this piece of music ever since I heard it at the Baltimore Seaquarium on a class trip. Thanks to the classical music station, I finally know its title and composer. Perhaps ironically, the piece is titled "Aquarium."
Aquarium - Camille Saint-Saens
The same composer also wrote "Danse Macabre." This one ought to be familiar. It's meant to evoke Death playing the violin in a graveyard to dancing skeletons. According to the liner notes, the composer's mother fainted upon hearing it for the first time.
