Sunday, I was ironing my pants before church. I had the iron and a bottle of sizing sitting on the ironing board while I was straightening out a pants leg. My hand knocked into something out of my line of vision in the direction of the iron, and I was so convinced that I'd touched the hot edge of the iron that I actually thought I felt pain. When I looked over, it was the bottle of sizing that I'd hit.
The human mind is an amazing instrument in terms of what kinds of things about which we can completely convince ourselves, whether that circumstance is true or not.
I can tell it's going to be an odd day already; I left waaaay too late b/c hubby told me there was an accident on 202/206 and that I might want to cool my jets for a while. 1.5 hours of Vagrant Story later, I was very late. And then there was the road-widening construction to add to the delay. And it was hot.
We visited both dads over the weekend. Hubby wasn't happy that I insisted on staying with my parents on Saturday night, but frankly, we stayed with his parents last and when we stay at my folks' house, I get a decent shower in the morning and a bed that doesn't dip in the middle and give me back problems for the rest of the day. My dad received some techie toys that experienced some technical problems (figures) but he seemed happy to have something to fuss with. We went out for ice cream - first time this summer! But it really isn't summer yet, is it? :)
Went to church with the parents to make 'em happy, and was treated to a serenade by their new cantor, who is both loud AND off-pitch, and who seems to think she's Shania Twain or something. My mother and I were wincing throughout. (You may feel this is unfair. I have good pitch, however, and people singing off-key is quite painful.)
We visited the Q's Sunday morning, and I helped Mom Q in the kitchen and with painting some dowels for a project. Finally learned how to make cold string bean salad; easy, but it helps to know what goes in it.
Must call B this week about getting together next weekend to play the ponies.

I just got my dad a DVD (Pearl Harbor) for Father's Day. I know that's lame, but then my sister did the same thing (after she asked me what I was getting him. Grrr... But at least not the same one, otherwise...). Too many holidays--Too few ideas. @_X

My husband took care of the presents. I couldn't think of anything. My dad is the type who just goes out and buys whatever he wants instead of waiting, and my father-in-law is just impossible to buy for. He complains that no one ever buys him what he wants, but then he won't tell anyone what he wants them to buy. @_X
