...a company advertising software designed to eliminate popup ads...

...is advertising with a popup ad.

Huh? O_o

If you can read this ad, you're not using our software!

Actually the floating i-frame ads I think are the worst. They float around the window, and offer no means to close them (click anywhere on them, and they gotcha). Or a lot of sites when you navigate the site, they will randomly take you to a page with a big add banner on it, offering you a link to continue to the page you wanted to go to in the first place. @_X

Targeted advertising though. If you don't need it you'll never see it.

Hey, that sounds pretty effective ;). I mean, pestering you with pop-ups serves as good motivation for you to get their product, right? ;)

Ha! That's excellent...

(I do use a pop-up killer program, by the way... it makes a neat little shooting sound when it closes the pop-up, too. Very satisfying.)

I think they want to show you how annoying those pop-up ads are :)

I think [livejournal.com profile] mullenkamp stops those pop up ads on her own by just turning the java script option on the browser off, which is one way of doing it.

I find that to be exceptionally typical. People make no sense.

The problem with turning off the java script for your browser is that then it can't do other things either. So you loose more than just pop up adds.

Sorry for the pop-up incentive, but I'm glad to see you post. :)
