I don't think it is. D: If you look at her blog, you can see how oddly proportioned she is. Perfect if you're going for the BJD look, but if you're not...
The girl has some good techniques with makeup. Look closely at the eyes. The eye-liner only is used on the outer half of each eye. Excellent effect for highlighting the eyes. She has an excellent technique of styling her hair. The use of bangs will create a younger and more innocent look. In addition, the photos show different uses on how bangs can make a face appear rounder or elongated. Hiding the eye behind the hair creates some mystery to the personality. The contours created by the lines of the long hair really compliment her head.
I don't know anything about this girl except what was mentioned in the article and here. The girl has a good foundation and understanding for working in the glamour industry.
Photos 4, 7, and 9 are artistically really good.
Photos 5, 6, 8, and 10 should be retaken when she is in her 20's. Two of these promoting sexualized exploitation of youth.
Photo 6 does capture an entire different image. The rest are showing youthful, carefree, happy personalities. Number 6 has a strikingly serious, innocent, and saddened persona. The use of light and shadows darkens her left eye area. Not sure if the slight increase in pinkish-red blush is intentional or just an effect cause by the light and/or the camera. The difference in cheek colors helps to the sorrowful and solemn character.
The girl should be encouraged to continue developing this talent. As she matures, she will explore her artistic side by working with other models with difference physical attributes.
Even acknowledging all those things (and yes, I agree with you that she does some very specific and clever things to make her eyes look bigger) I still think it's creepy that she looks like a ball-jointed doll! :)
