Short fanart rant time!

In which I complain about free things that have no consequence.

Things about Dissidia fanart that are annoying me right now:

1. Lightning/Kain are an awesome DDFF couple because they are both grumpy badasses. When Lightning gets chibified into a little vulnerable waif, it takes all the fun out of it. (Yes, the art is pretty... but they don't work as a fluffy pairing!)

2. Everything Laguna/Vaan. Ew. Seriously.

3. That I still have not learned Japanese by osmosis and I can't read everything that this mangaka has been illustrating. The art is magnificent and if that ring is what I think it is, that makes me wibble all over the place.

I have to get around to doing a pixiv dump. Other people's finds are fun; time to return the favor.

In order:

1. I admit I'm not a fan of the couple (though this is due to just not being a fan of both characters) though there is some amazing work out there, both fanfic and art wise. But yeah, people like them for their characters so they should be kept IN CHARACTER. (Okay I admit I am partial to seeing OOC Team Chaos fluff from time to time for the stupidity of it but for someone like Lightning it just doesn't work)

2. I'm a fan of their dynamic but... yeah I'm really not comfortable seeing Laguna with kids 10 years his junior, specifically kids STILL UNDER THE LEGAL AGE OF CONSENT IN MOST STATES.

3. The kana by that mangaka is really difficult to read but yes, your hunch is correct: his crystal is based on his and Raine's wedding rings.

ALSO PLEASE DO INCLUDE A PIXIV DUMP. I'D LOVE TO SEE WHAT YOU'VE MANAGED TO FORAGE! :D

1. OOC Team Chaos is funny. Little helpless Lightning is just dumb, and it flies in the face of what makes her at all interesting to me.

Hm, maybe tonight... but then again, there's preseason football on. But I have an awesome art of Laguna and Balthier... but there's football on... XD

Seriously. Two of the most kickingassingest chicks in FFXIII (Lightning and Fang) and Lightning gets the chibi treatment? Heresy!

I envy you that you can look at the pretty arts, and read the text too! One of my con buddies used to translate doujinshi for me in exchange for goodies off her Amazon wishlist, but she is long vanished into the Internets ether. ;_;
