From what I can see of Biscuit, she looks like my Japanese landlord's granddaughter's cat, Kabukichi.

Biscuit is a black/gray/brown moggie with some lighter patches. It looks like she's had bleach dripped on her. :)

Was Kabukichi a moggie?

A moggie is a regular old mongrel cat. Looks like Kabukichi and Biscuit are the same color tabby. :)

At least YOU noticed the mysterious lump before you plopped down on top of it. Believe me, things go... 'badly'... if you fail to notice such things in time.
(it took hours of apologizing before I was finally forgiven)

And with the second cat, who is completely matte black, it's far worse, 'cause she really IS equipped with stealth technology. Honestly, in a dimly-lit room or hallway, she is completely invisible (even to radar--I've checked!).
The poor girl has been accidentally booted so many times it's a wonder she'll still come anywhere near me. Either she's very understanding, or she just understands the limitations of a blind, clumsy, STUPID monkey.

Poor kitty! We have the same stealth problem sometimes - Biscuit blends right in with one of our rugs, and it is surprisingly hard to spot her sometimes.

AWWWWWW~~~! I know all about duvet lumps and the undignified meowing that occurs not soon after slumping over them after a hard day. (Much grovelling must be done afterwards)

One time I just went up to my bed and there was a little black and pink nose sticking out amongst a mountain of duvet. I laughed myself stupid before having a coo fest.
