Bodily Fluid Cleanups Inspire "Dirty Dancing" Ban
1. That's just nasty.
2. This kind of thing definitely didn't happen at my high school!
Another local high school is trying to ban “dirty dancing” at proms. Why? There seems to be problem with a dance in which students cluster in tight groups, preventing adults from seeing what’s going on in the middle.
So what’s going on in the middle?
"The custodial staff were... cleaning bodily fluids off the floor," Susan Nolen, copresident of the Parent Teacher Group and mother of two students at Penncrest High School told the Inquirer.

Date: 2010-06-03 01:38 am (UTC)It must be a symptom of aging (and getting oh-so-much-wiser): every time I hear of something like this, I wish there were ways to take pictures and travel into the future to show these people how idiotic they are. Not that it would stop them.

Date: 2010-06-03 08:24 pm (UTC)I often think about how glad I am that things like Youtube and Facebook didn't exist when I was in high school. There are some videos of me acting like a dumbass on VHS tapes somewhere, but they're safely buried where nobody will see them unless I choose. I'm glad they're buried, too, but they're nothing like what you're describing here.
So, why in the WORLD would kids do stuff like this in this age of camera phones where anyone can capture what they do and say and post it to the internet to remain there, destroying their reputations for all eternity?
I just don't get it. I must be getting old.
