Have you guys heard of PaperbackSwap and Swap A CD? I just joined, and already several folks are going to take some unwanted books and CDs off my hands. Sender pays for shipping, but then you get credits towards requesting more stuff. Fantastic!

I've only been on the site for about 5 days, and already 8 books have gone out the door. It's a nice alternative to eBay or getting credits at the used book stores, which are getting rarer.

The Clark Howard Show had a discussion on these sites. Clark is very positive toward them. The following link references bookswap and other exchange networks. I like the last user's entry. However, that one is not always practical.

lol. Fair enough, but the library won't take your pile of used paperbacks! They're picky about what they will take because otherwise they're a dumping ground for trashy romance novels.

Depends on what you're looking for and how quick you are to pounce on the wishlist alerts, but I've gotten something like 400 books there.
