Dec. 19th, 2001 10:23 amThe damage so far:
Christmas Baking List
I have gone through
5+ pounds of flour
3+ pounds of sugar
4 pounds of butter
canister of cinnamon
1/2 pound pecans
1/2 pound unsweetened chocolate
1/2 package cocoa
to make
2 batches macadamia lime cookies
2 batches gingersnaps
1 batch chocolate chip
1 batch checkerboard cookies (which I will never make again)
1 batch white chocolate chunk brownies
1 batch fudge brownies
1 batch mint brownies
1 batch Georgia pecan bars
1 batch oatmeal snickerdoodles
1 batch cantuccini
And I'm not done yet! Phew!
It was nice to stay home yesterday... maybe again tomorrow. Wouldn't that be lovely.. but the Christmas shopping isn't done and I have a dinner date with an old friend for Thursday.
With the schedule that's on the books, it will be nothing short of relief when the holidays are over.
And if I have to spend Christmas Eve with Ginger's family I'm just going to shoot myself in the head. I'd rather go to church! Now there's an idea... (let's put it this way - her stepfather has pencil sketches of SWAT teams framed on his walls. Enough said.)

Date: 2001-12-19 07:39 am (UTC)The sketches are just so... tacky. So are the John Deere t-shirts, the six-foot windmill on the lawn, the other lawn ornaments in cheap plastic... and her mother's collection of cheesy Indian art (like those Bradford Exchange plates, I'm sure you've seen them.)
Church is looking better and better.
