Clinton touts support from 'white Americans'

"I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on," she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

Madame Clinton, I assure you that you don't have my white American support. Perhaps I am too educated for your elite cadre of supporters.

Shit like this makes me feel physically ill.

Hillary has repeatedly and consistently shown her ass throughout this entire campaign. And I can't tell you how disappointed that makes me, as I started out assuming I would vote for her.

Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again

Yes, because only shiftless, lazy, immoral, godless non-whites support Obama.

The whole race element is disgusting but people just love to classify the campaign in a racial way. Oh the blacks are voting for obama but the white upperclasses belong to Clinton. Who the hell cares?

Actually, what Ms. Clinton is saying is that she has a lot of sway with less-educated whites (quote "who had not completed college.")

I'm not sure this is something to brag about, but there you go.

I haven't supported the Hill and Bill Show from the get-go, as IMO it's time for someone whose last name isn't Bush or Clinton to be in office, but I can not believe how consistently she has torpedoed her own campaign. Billy hasn't helped, either.

She also doesn't have our white women support.

Because being a feminist and wanting a female president do not mean voting for a woman just because.

Well, im just saying, the race thing..race schmace I'm tired of hearing about it and sorry they had to make it such a pointed thing with the candidates.. >

Yeah. I will vote for a female candidate because she can do as well as or better than the person she is running against, not because she happens to be female.

One of my friends wondered whether she would continue on as a third party candidate. I recoiled in horror. I can't think of anything worse for the upcoming election.

I wonder if she really thought about how badly that would come across before she embraced it? For someone who's selling herself over Obama on the grounds of political experience, she makes a lot of stunning errors of judgement.

She's been saying a lot of stupid crap. It doesn't bode well, because it means she doesn't listen to the people in her campaign who should be telling her what not to say. Either they're afraid to talk to her, or she just doesn't care. Both reasons should give the voter pause.

::sigh:: I saw this, too.

I don't know - is it some sort of weird self-destructive thing? Did she just sit there and go, "You know, too many people like me. I wonder if I can change that?"

It makes me kind of sad, really. I can't even get furious about it anymore.

Totally agreed! Honestly, I've never seen such spin. If I didn't know that politicians would say anything, I'd think she was crazy. Her desperation is getting very uncomfortable to watch. I mean, I'm not against someone fighting for what they believe in, but there is a time for a reality check, and it has come and gone.

It's depressing. I'd have liked to see less Geraldine Ferraro and more Danica Patrick, yanno?

My husband theorizes that Ms. Clinton's reward for standing by her man during the Monica thing was advancement of her political career. I don't know if that holds any water, but it would explain why she's so upset - Obama is challenging her for a crown she feels she was promised.
