A brief synopsis of the house hunt to date

*make bid*

Sellers: Um, ok. We'll knock 3K off the price JUST FOR YOU.

Us: OK, screw you, you won't play nice.

*repeat showing was cancelled*

*weekend goes by*

Sellers: ...where'd you go? Don't you want to make another offer?

Us: You're not the only game in town, bitches.

Sellers: *fretfretfret*

Heh heh heh. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Did they want to have another showing in the hope of getting a better price?

That's it exactly. Husband wanted to see the house again with his father, but when we bid again at a higher price after they counter-offered the first time, they ignored that second offer. We said, "Okay, fine!" and cancelled the second showing, because if the sellers won't negotiate, there are other houses out there. Now they're all agitated, which is good for us. :)

I can understand that, especially if they ignored your second and higher offer.

You'll find something else, with more communicable sellers.

Do you have insurance against problems (wear and tear or more serious lacks) that appear after purchase?
