Start reading here; if you get obsessive and get to the end too fast, if you can wait only about... I think it'll be another two months-ish, the two parts of the story will be joined up — unless you don't mind kinda spoiling yourself for a big surprise not on-line yet.
See, when this story started on-line, it'd already been published in 13 print comic books; what the Foglios did, then, is continue the story on-line only (until they got to the end of a volume, then it went to print as well), and also started it over from the beginning, creating the '101 Class' and the 'Advanced Class', as if we were students at Transylvania Polygnostic University taking a history class.
101 covers Volumes 1-3 and part of 4; Advanced finishes 4 and has just begun Volume 7. 1-5 are in dead tree form, and 6 is being sent to the Chinese publisher right about now. There, more meta than you needed to know.
Now, as to why you'll probably like it: geek-girl hero, cute almost-redheaded love interest, a green-haired amazon, giant robots, bigger blimps, Jaegermonsters, travel, adventure, circuses, explosions, ray guns, and MAAAAAD SCIENCE!
Oh, and really good art. Phil's been drawing and being printed for decades. And it's inherently feminist (i.e., women are equals, especially on Castle Wulfenbach. Shocking concept, I know. *wink*).
