Holy shitcakes, Batman
Jul. 14th, 2006 05:43 pmIt's a good thing that I REALLY want to do the PADI scuba course on the cruise, because they said you had to buy your own mask and snorkel, and when we went out to Hunterdon Scuba to buy one, the bill came to...
That's almost as much as the damn COURSE.
$300.00

Regarding the price, I don't think it was a ripoff so much as we went to the scuba shop, so we got Professional Grade stuff. Certainly we could have gone to a sporting goods store and paid a lot less.

Date: 2006-07-15 03:21 pm (UTC)Yeah, so did we - our PADI instructors took us all on a mass trip to one they'd arranged a 10% discount with - but since we were on the Great Barrier Reef coast, there were four scuba shops in every town. I'm sure the competition helps to keep the prices down!
Snorkelling is certainly fun, but I do wish we went to places we could go diving more often.
