No really, shoot me in the face, right now.

It was like a car accident. I couldn't look away.

"Britney provides inspiration for those struggling with the 'right choice'," said artist Daniel Edwards

So the right choice is for women to all start dropping sprogs in their early twenties. Of course, in Britney's case it would be nothing to do with how easy it is for her to afford baby kit, childcare and nannies, and hours in the gym with a personal trainer to ensure she gets back into hip-wiggling shape three months after giving birth.

And on another note, does anybody seriously try to give birth fighting against gravity?

You know what's the best part? Ms. Spears had a c-section.

I am not revolted by pregnant bodies, unless it's Britney Spears.

I'm not saying I'm revolted by pregnancy. I'm revolted by the idea that Britney Spears embodies the spirit of the pro-life movement.

Oh no! I never meant to imply that you were - only that you and I are united in our disgust at the article.

There are so many ugly things about that whole thing.

People disgust me sometimes.

To paraphrase something said recently about Ms. Kou:

The only people stupider than Ms. Spears are her fans.

I don't know for sure, but I've seen some evidence that the artist intended it satirically.

GOOD GOD I HOPE SO.

I don't know if you read the book "Freakonomics," but one of the more interesting bits was about what aspects of parenting improve children's test scores. One of the strong positive correlations was the age of the mother - the older the mother, the more likely the child was to do well in school. Why is this, one asks? Older parents are more likely to 1. be educated 2. want kids and 3. take an active role in their schooling.

These folks might be lauding Britney Spears for her choice, but if she hadn't been a lucky pop tart with a (briefly) pretty face, she'd be just another drain on the welfare system with a deadbeat dad to chase around. (you can bet if she wasn't rich, K-Fed would have been gone long ago.)

It's not surprising, since the pro-life ideology is all about reification of representations of motherhood that have no basis in reality and then selling those images to young girls.

This has always been by second biggest beef (after the obvious) about the "pro-life" movement--they're obsessed with the baby/fetus before birth but don't seem to give a damn about what happens afterwards.

That's because they don't really care about "life".

Many pro-lifers will also be pro-death penalty. Discuss.

Where do you work, might I ask? It sounds to me like your perspective is the smack upside the head that these eejits need. Maybe these pro-lifers should take your job for a month and then re-evaluate their position.
