Here's a fun work activity for all my friends who have good taste in music! :D

I would like to make a Vash the Stampede fst for - duh - [livejournal.com profile] fst. So far, I have about eight songs. Given that the music I like tends to be floaty electronica, not that much of my collection of music is really all that applicable. So, gentle friends, I ask you the question: which song (or two) makes you think of Vash? Not a pairing song, not V/M, not V/W, just Vash.

MP3s would be appreciated if they're handy, but I can download anything you think is worth hearing. Credit will be given to the suggestors, of course!

Hmm, that's a toughie. Most of my Vash songs are more about how he relates to the people close to him. I'll give my mp3s a look when I got home. Sounds like a fun challenge. :) What have you got so far, or should I just wait and see?

I'm not going to get any points for originality here, but...

1. A Better Place - VAST
2. Somewhere Else to Be - VAST
3. Fight Test - The Flaming Lips
4. Dewy Fields - Bel Canto
5. Time - Tom Waits
6. Under the Gun - Blondie
7. A Simple Plan - I'm Just a Kid
8. Hurt - Johnny Cash

Well, there's Union Underground's Revolution Man (which is a Vash song for me mostly because of a vid on AMV, but it still suits)... there's Anais Mitchell's Hymn for the Exiled... of course, there's always Perfect Circle's Peace Love and Understanding... Hood's They Removed All traes That Anything Had Happened Here (I heart glitch!)...

Drat it... I tried to listen to the tracks you gave me, but the ZIP files didn't decompress properly. Maybe I can get them from you over IM?

I'll try re-ul'ing them unzipped... hopefully that'll work.

Whew, nothing that makes sense from this country - but I had Carole Kings' "Way Over Yonder" on repeat for a long time. That, and Backstreet Boys' (I know, I know, shoot me now) "Larger Than Life" did it for me too.

I'm going to have to take a pass on the Backstreet Boys, but I'll listen to the other one.

I know I should be ashamed to admit it, but Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive". *grin*

No reason to be ashamed of 80's-era Bon Jovi! XD

This is really weird, but whenever I hear "Can You Feel It?" by The Jacksons, I think of Vash.

My ignorance is showing here, but is The Jacksons associated with the Jackson family, as in Michael, LaToya, and Co.?

Yep. Actually, the song is usually credited to The Jackson 5, when it was little Michael and his brothers in the 70s.
