Greetings, passers-by -

Welcome to my journal. It's a quiet place, but I like it. Most of the interesting stuff is friends-only, but the anime babble is here for your amusement.

I have a very open friendback policy, but it would very much help me to know why you find me interesting enough to add if I don't already know you. If you tend to babble in l33t-speak, or you appear to be adding me to fill up your friendslist, I may not add you back.

On the other hand, I welcome intelligent, friendly, and nerdy people, so if you think you're one of them, welcome! :)

NOTE: My username "Arafel" is a reference to C. J. Cherryh's The Dreaming Tree. I am neither Russian nor Jewish, and I do not speak Russian. If your journal is not in English, I will not friend you.

I hate text abreviations too. Takes me longer to work out what they're saying than it would to read the complete word. Must be old age creeping in.

Hello! ^.^ I was wondering if I could promote a community, or be a sister community at least for [livejournal.com profile] nj_otaku? My community is new! It's called [livejournal.com profile] otaku__unite!

Thankyou much!

Hmm... I like to reserve promotions in [livejournal.com profile] nj_otaku for events going on in the tristate area. My comm is more for people who live in the same geographic area rather than a gathering place for otaku. Good luck, though!

Ahem...I usually prefer slipping into FLs unnoticed, but what with this policy thingy sitting on top this plan might have failed, so --

I'm adding you for I found your anime posts interesting (plus, you're one of the rarities that have seen "Speed Grapher"), but what really bought me, was that spammer name poll. I did just the same not so long ago. :D

Do people really add other LJs to fill up some lists? One way or another, feel free not to add me back. :P

Speed Grapher was good crack, wasn't it? :)

Friended! And yes, I think that some folks like to fill up their friendslists. There's no other explanation for some of the people who have friended me.

i would like to join the community writers_guild. Since you are the acting manager of that community, can you tell me what I need to do to join? Thanks

Go to the community info page (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=writers_guild). At the point where it says "To join this community, click here (http://www.livejournal.com/community/join.bml?comm=writers_guild)," click there. That's all you need to do.

While I understand you are new to LiveJournal, LiveJournal does have a FAQ (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faq.bml), and I suggest you refer to the "Communities" subheading to answer further questions.

Completely off-topic from this, but a friend was sending me Bleach icons the other night. I got this one mixed up with the ones she made, and I don't think she noticed that it wasn't credited properly in my userpics section. I can take it down if you want, since it's yours, but it amuses the heck out of me. Would you mind if I used it, since I've gotten it properly credited now? If not, I can take it down, no big.

I hate posting on your own page and cluttering things up and will be happy to delete when my question is answered if that's what you want, but:

I'm a member of [livejournal.com profile] writers_guild and was wondering if screening comments was something enacted throughout all posts. And if so, why?

Date: 2006-05-30 12:25 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] arafel.livejournal.com
That's odd, there shouldn't be a screen on comments. I'll check that out. I should really turn the modship over to someone else.

From: [identity profile] arrowintwolakes.livejournal.com
Got screened again, and I'm not sure that the comment I initially was talking about became unscreened.

Conversely, if you want, I can take over the modship. I have a little experience in modding writer's communities.

I have no idea why the comments are screened by default, honestly. I went into the community settings, and everything is as it should be. If your comments are being screened, I can only assume that it's at the behest of the OP, because there's nothing further I can change about the community to unscreen comments.

Heyo hon, um... yes. I know it's been absolutely years since I said anything to you, mostly because I made a stupid mistake and said something selfish that I shouldn't have, but I thought I'd just pop by to see what you were up to and to say sorry for being such a chicken back then.

*hugs*

...Well, heya! :) What was it that you said? I have no idea, so I must not have been very upset by it. ^_^; So, apology accepted, but I'm not sure what you're apologizing for. :)

I see you're still active in the SR fandom, so it's always good to see that some of the regular denizens are still hanging around the Tavern. Nice to hear from you! :)

Hi, I'm writing here concerning the writers_guild. I was just wondering if advertising is allowed there?
My gf and me just made a co-writing community and are now on the search for people to join. :)
