   Come on. Do I really need to describe why I'm interested in chocolate? Who isn't?
3. doujinshi:
   Wonderful books of joy that make everything that didn't happen in the series happen on paper. Also, capable of transforming "this fanfic blows chunks" into "omg pretty squee!" in a few strokes of the artist's pencil.
4. fruits basket:
   Not on my alltime top ten of anime, but cute and fun and touching.
5. iron chef:
   BITE THE PEPPER! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PEPPER, CHAIRMAN KAGA!
6. maine:
   I love Maine. We've been going since I was six. If I can't have a beach house, I want a house on Alamoosook Lake.
7. nose water:
   There was once a wonderful, angsty, Babelfished Japanese fanfic wherein Meryl was pregnant with twins she might lose. At one point, she cries, and she makes "nose water." Nothing goes quite as well with angst as copious amounts of snot.
8. quilting:
   LOOK MA! A normal hobby! Wherein you piece together bits of different fabric until you go insane.
9. star trek:
   Old fandoms never die, they just go where no man has gone before. C'mere, Data.
10. trinity blood:
    Eye candy. Trigun X Hellsing, with Chrono Crusade as the godparent.

This really is the Special Skill of them. There are books I actually *like* that would have me groaning at the cliche-ness of them if they were just words. But I still can't put up with wimped-out!Vash, however pretty.

Agreed. Jaina has a few books by Pannya Soup wherein Knives and Vash are vampires - if they were fanfics, we'd pull our eyeballs out, but it's all good if it's art! (tho Pannya Soup's not my circle of choice.)

Yeah, don't wimp out the butch guys. The butchness is what makes them interesting, and if you think that yaoi has to equal effete, then you are perpetuating all kinds of unpleasant stereotypes.
