Not a terribly exciting weekend. Friday was good because of the group meeting, but it rolled right on downhill after that.

Saturday I went to one of my former high schools for their annual fall fair. My husband went off with my parents to help them crew the boat for its trip to its winter harbor, so he didn't come with me. I saw a very few old friends there, including my ex-boyfriend, his wife, and their new baby. She's a very cute little girl. Prone to earsplitting shrieks at restaurants, but other than that she was good.

We spent some time walking around the grounds and surveying the changes that have taken place since we all went there. The campus looks a lot different and I didn't even know quite where I was when I pulled up to the back of the complex until I saw the old Upper School. It was nice to go back... but also a reminder that you can't go home again, no matter how hard you try.

That night I went up to Brick to the boat and went out to dinner with my parents. We cleaned the boat up and packed all the stuff away for next year. No more boat trips. Since NY Harbor is closed, we don't have anywhere to go.

We went home around 2 PM because S wasn't feeling well. I went to the market for dinner stuff and spent most of the afternoon packing up summer clothes and making dinner. The foccacia came out a whole lot better this time; maybe the increased rising time, maybe letting it rise at room temp, I don't know. I also made tomato cognac bisque, which was decent; probably nothing to write home about.

Evening ended well, though, with a successful snipe.

Irvine: Nice shootin', Tex!

Got to get that money order off today and then we'll see.

Certainly I'll scan as much of the dj for you as you like. Now that I've figured out how to work the scanner better, it takes a lot less time than it did.

A bisque is usually a seafood soup that has a lot of cream in it. The stuff I made isn't technically a bisque because it's not seafood, but it does have cream.

Irvine is very proud. :)

Thanks a lot for scanning !

Yeah I would imagine Irvine being a good teacher too :)

A bisque sounds yummy... with or without sea food.
