After a run of about 10 interesting episodes, Bleach has descended back into Filler Territory, only instead of Hollow-of-the-Day, it's Death-God-of-the-Day. At this point, I know from a longtime anime watcher's experience that nothing of interest will happen until ep. 38.

So far it's been:

Ichigo/Ganju/Inoue/Ishida trade insults/threats/blows/body fluids (okay, I made that last part up) with miscellaneous Death Gods

Yoruichi does his best Kuronekosama impression

Chad sits in trees



Though we did get to see Shinigami!Urahara, who equals teh hotness.

Also DUDE INOUE PLEASE BE GOOD FOR SOMETHING BESIDES FANSERVICE KTHXBAI

And also isn't it funny that Ishida and Inoue are so chummy with one another when both of them are so not straight?

I heart that threesome. It's such a refreshing change of pace.

Maybe Ishida can help me with cosplay. XD You just know he made his outfit himself, to match the glove. It killed me when he produced a second cape.

I have been meaning to ask you for a favor tho..I'd like to get in touch with your friend with the Fuu costume to see if she'd possibly let me rent it out for Otakon in the emergency case of if I don't get caught up with my sewing...but I can't remember her LJ name and such.. ^^;

I don't think that they have to automatically be straight or gay. Inoue, I think, just likes everyone and I've known guys like Ishida who did all sorts of femmy things and yet were hetero. Besides the sewing (which in Japan isn't considered a hugely feminine thing, I don't believe) his personality is within normal parameters of masculinity.

I actually knew a guy in college WAY more femme than Ishida in terms of talking, mannerisms, etc. and he was TOTALLY into girls, which shocked the hell out of them when he asked them out because they all thought he was gay. I felt really bad for him, because he kept traumatizing all these college girls by shaking their view of the world-- HE is STRAIGHT? OMGOMGOMG. Heh.

Oh no - please don't get me wrong, I'm not one of the raving fangirls who insist everyone in every series is teh ghei. Shipping Orihime and Ishida is eminently understandable. I tend to like Orihime/Tatsuki because 1. they're cute and 2. it's annoying that homosexuality is teh hottx0rs when it's two boys, but two girls by and large are ignored. (Or, written in appallingly bad ways by untalented virgin male authors.)
