You know what's even scarier than anime cosplay? Star Wars cosplay.
That having been said, there's one Princess Leia costumer who probably sent every geek at the con back to his room with a bottle of baby oil.
I hope someone dressed up as Mara Jade. I luff her and I don't care that she's a Mary Sue.

Some of those fansview cosplayers really looked very similar to the real actors. Wow! IMho its never a necessdity that a cosplayer have the physical features that look just like a character but when by happenstance it ends up the case, it really enhances the whole presentation!

Date: 2005-04-22 02:00 pm (UTC)Something tells me the slave Leia chick was only there cause her boyfriend told her she'd get a lot of attention. You don't see attractive people at these things for the same reasons everyone else is there. XD

Date: 2005-04-23 01:21 am (UTC)I think the slightly older people (20+) are more into LARP here, which I find even scarier. There's no Halloween tradition here either - the only tradition I can think of that involves a lot of dressing up is Palm Sunday, but that's for small children, and they all dress up as little witches. @_@
I appreciate the hours of work people put into their costumes and such, I really do, so I think I'd be more at home looking at all the pretty (or weird) costumes people have sewn. I know for a fact that I'm unable to keep a straight face if I see people LARPing. It's just the way they talk and wave their oversized rubber weapons that makes me giggle. :/
