It's been just gorgeous this weekend. I'm so ready for summer, I can taste it.

Husband and I went off to Point Pleasant today, and boy howdy you'd think it was an 80-degree day in June by the crowds of people who were showing up by late afternoon. It was great to get out to the beach, especially since we didn't go even once last season.

Most of the businesses were open, and we had lunch on a pier over the ocean - nothing special, but the waves rolled in under us. Something about that thunder on the sand... it makes me miss Elberon all that much more. The guys in the office ask why husband and I don't pack up the damn car and go to the shore now and then, and I answer quite honestly that I was so spoiled growing up by having a relative who lived right on top of the beach that packing the car up with umbrellas, chairs, and sunscreen just isn't in my vocabulary.

Anyway, we walked the boardwark and the beach, saw a couple of boats run the Manasquan Inlet, and watched the surfers enjoy the rough surf. For all that it couldn't have cracked 70F on the beach, there were plenty of girls in bikinis getting some sun. We played skee-ball and I bought myself a caramel apple with peanuts on it. We even climbed into one of those silly photo booths and got a strip of four pictures. Two of 'em are cute - I'll bring into work, I think.

Here's a picture. Not of girls in bikinis, sorry. My husband's sitting on the jetty.

After our day at the beach, I exercised my Secret Power and got my husband to fall asleep by conking out on his chest. He's my snoozin' buddy that way. Got up eventually to make dinner, chicken stuffed with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes, and it was pretty damn good if I do say so myself. Then we went out for ice cream and that damn shop across the street is going to be the death of me if they keep serving amaretto ice cream.

I hope this week is better than last.

Aw. :( Well, one of the reasons we get out every weekend is because my husband kicks my butt to get out of the house. Or, we have to visit family, which is usually not #1 on my priority list.

I'm glad you had a fun time at the ocean. I know what you mean though about being spoiled- since my family has always had summer places in FL near the beach, we'd always vacation there when I was growing up. I am enjoying the warmer weather as well. Finally! :D

Oooh... nice. I used to go down to FL about this time of year, and it's a pleasure to sit on the wide white beach and jump in the warm ocean. Men o'war are kind of a drawback, but they come and go.

My dad's house on LI is literally down the street from the water... yeah, it's very easy to get spoiled. Unfortunately, he just has docks; no girls in bikinis. Of course, I wouldn't object if you just happened to post such photos... still, it's very nice just sitting down by the water, and I was ecstatic when I found out my office was a short walk from the river here. Very relaxing after a long day.

Then again, I went to a desert school where the joke was that you went to a place called "Hooters" to see women wearing clothes. Any chance you could post dozens of pictures of cute young female lab techs in labcoats and goggles instead of bikinis? ;)

Heh, no cuties at OCD, I'm afraid. You'd have much better luck at grad school.

Yeah, but I bet you didn't have nearly as much company as my husband and I did. When there are a lot of people on the beach, it's much harder to feed the seagulls and find seashells.

will you be online tonight? i have backups for this thing if you can't or don't want to for whatever reason. btw, my SN is "acertainflower".

srry telling you this with such short notice, things have been kinda nuts. The assignment is pretty much- "describe characteristics of individuals who are voluntarily childless, and their long-term happiness with the lifestyle"

You'd be discussed breifly/anonymously in my psych class tomorrow. I know you've mentioned a bit about this topic before, so more detail on it is all need. thanks again!

Do you have one of those little seats on the back of your bike for the tyke? I have many fond memories of riding with my dad that way; I'm sure your littl'un will too.

We have a ride-behind trailer but she's been resisting it-- she wants to bike herself. But the ride-behind might work, especially now I'm a bit more confident with the bike!
