I'm getting all sniffledy over the end of ep 20, and then you go and FUCK WITH MY HEAD AGAIN.



donna_c_punk talked about this ep getting mildly shippy for Mugen/Fuu, and I can see where that impression is coming from, but I still think Fuu's hung up on Jin. My take on the reason Fuu picked Jin to go with Sara at the end of the ep is that she wants everyone to be unhappy, in the vein of misery loves company. Mugen will be upset that he doesn't go with Sara, and then Fuu wants Jin to be upset that he doesn't go with her, but it doesn't work that way. Fuu really needs to grow up, but that's part of what makes her engaging as a character - she's human and she's behaving like the adolescent she is.

And on a related side note: Jin, I love love love you as a character. You prove yourself to be the Perfect Guy where Shino is concerned, then you're the one who takes off after Fuu when she gets upset. I heart you in so many ways, and it really helps that you are very easy on the eyes.

Anime Forever also translates the Goze's name as "Sara."

Sara isn't a common Japanese name, is it? I've never seen it used in anime until now.

There's a Sara in "Now and Then, Here and There" but then she's from America.

You know, I have that on my comp, but I only watched the first half of the first episode, because it's in teeny, tiny picture with bad quality.

You keep watching NTHT because even though it's one tough anime, there's a thin thread of hope that runs through it. Shu keeps fighting, and so does the viewer along with him. He's an idealist, but that kind of blind idealism is something that future world doesn't have, and it makes him a paradigm-breaker. It's a very bittersweet series.

The one who wanted to marry Mugen? Yatsuha. I adored her. A more perfect match for Mugen hasn't cropped up yet.

Frankly, I don't see Fuu with either of the boys. It's normal that she should have a crush, but a crush does not a pairing make. I think they see her as something of a little sister at best - she's too young for Mugen or Jin.

Though I would like to write a post-SC fic where Jin and Mugen come to her teahouse for a visit and end up trashing the place. :D
