Well, crap.
Jul. 28th, 2003 12:25 pmCheck engine light is on in the Passat again. My husband is writing up a letter to VW claiming that our car is a lemon. This causes me great Otakon anxiety, since the car may or may not be ready for the 7th. *sweatdrop*
On the up side, rentals are a possibility.
It's such a pain in the ass. The car has been in for the check engine light three times in as many months. I don't pay for it because it's under warranty, but if it wasn't, the cost of repairs along with the monthly car payment would be worth a Mercedes. I really don't want to get rid of the Passat because it's such a pretty car, but my Acura wasn't nearly this much trouble. I don't know whether to blame VW or the federal government's emissions restrictions, but there are an awful lot of new cars out there and I highly doubt that THEY have to schlepp into the dealer every month to replace one of the 220+ things that can go wront with the car.
The Anna Williams outfit is coming along nicely. My Big Accomplishment of the weekend was learning how to install a zipper, albeit not very professionally. Putting the zipper into the side of the pantsuit was another story. It took me three tries to baste it in properly, and then I forgot that I'd used a different stitch in the seam at the bottom of the zipper. So, when it came time to open the seam, I ripped big holes into the seam allowance. @_X Fortunately, it was fixable, though that seam looks a little funny. No helping it.
Up next - make fur trim, sew fur onto gloves (phew, gloves I bought already) and make hat. Make armbands and cheat at necklace. Make matching bag out of scraps (perhaps.) Go Go Kenmore!
I finished Neon Genesis Evangelion over the weekend. Comments:
( Minor spoilers )
