Samurai Champloo 6 is:
--A good-natured poke at Westerners' conception of Japanese homosexuality
--Surprisingly pervy
--Surprisingly out-front about homosexuality for an anime that doesn't have "bishie" written all over it (e.g. Gravitation, Yami no Matsuei)
--REALLY FUCKING HILARIOUS
Don't ask me how I knew the nationality of the visitor. It was probably the shoes, but I still laughed my ass off.
CONCLUSION: SAMURAI CHAMPLOO KICKS MIGHTY ASS
(oh, and discs are on the way for the ppl who asked for them. Woohoo!)

::raises fist:: Tell it!
If not for your merciful sending of subs, I'd have to wait four weeks to see that SC ep. Honestly, I can't wait to watch it with the AnimeSoc anyway, because the homophobic dudes will be so utterly horrified! Samurai Camploo all the way! XD See what I did there? Yep? OK.

Date: 2004-10-01 04:22 pm (UTC)Mugen and Spike are related. I'm firmly convinced of that. They both have that laid-back, kick-your-ass-in-a-heartbeat personality. AND the same hair. Spike's nicer than Mugen, but they're both grudgingly fond of their female tagalong in an "awshit, guess I have to help you" type way. (let me say for the record that Faye and Spike don't work for me as a pairing, so.)

Date: 2004-10-01 04:39 pm (UTC)Spike and Mugen: they could be twins. The moment I saw Mugen do his whole 'I can't be arsed fighting you but I will simply because you're pissing me off' thing (and when I saw the hair omg!!) I thought: 'Spike'. Someone was a bit lazy with their character designs, weren't they, Mr. Watanabe?

Spike's a bit nicer than Mugen is - not quite as bloodthirsty, at least before the end of the series - but the part about "can't be arsed to fight you" attitude is spot-on. Now THAT would be a match to watch, Mugen vs. Spike.
Yes. Mugen and Jin are very slashable. I'm not sure if I'd ever venture into that territory, but any pairing with Fuu would provoke a loud sigh from me.

Date: 2004-10-02 06:59 am (UTC)LOL! Now this makes me really looking forward to seeing the other episodes. :)))
The scene in ep 2 when Mugen puts his arm around Jin's shoulder to suggest they get away and Fuu's comment "What ARE you two guys doing? That's nasty!" made me crack up.
And the "You were in the bath butt naked" comment in ep 1 from Mugen. :D
SC is much obviously a series for adults. Oh man, ep 5 has many ecchi (visual) jokes but is so funny!
I agree on the Faye and Jet thing. It seems to me they hint about a deeper connection at the end of the last ep.
