moonwiseTo this point, I've only been the author of fanfiction. Cheating, really; someone else has done the work for you and you're extrapolation off of their ideas. The trick is ever to come up with something original, which is a problem of mine.
Don't know why I'm rambling off about this but...
I've been encouraged to think about a novel of my own. I still maintain that I don't have the talent to pull off a real novel, but for a while now I've thought it would be fun to write some sprawling epic about a royal family based on my own - not because I think my family is something everyone needs to know about, but because the distribution of children brings to mind a royal epic. Most of my second cousins are boys, and I had a thought about the lone girl scheming to take over the throne Queen Elizabeth/Mary style. Then there's the next two boys in the succession, well out of the picture and making their own plots...
Do forgive me blabbering on. ^_^
