I have also heard that the KareKano anime drops off somewhat at the end, but you're right -- the manga has more than twice as many "acts" as the anime does. It will be interesting to see where exactly the anime concludes, though given what happens at the end of that Maboroshi AMV, I have a good idea of how far Miyazawa and Arima's relationship progresses (spoiler!). Anyway, I'm also really enjoying KareKano so far...great stuff indeed!
> Is there another volume out now?
Not yet... the next DVD (episodes 7-11) is currently scheduled for release at the end of October, I think. When I was at home visiting, we were watching some fansubs courtesy of one of my sister's friends, who has all 26 episodes on tape. I'm tempted to see if I can snag a full copy from her friend, but his tapes were already copies of copies of copies, etc, and the quality was variable. (We stopped at the 11th episode because the entire screen was jerking to the left every few seconds, and it gave us all a headache). I'll probably just wait and collect the DVD's as they come out. That way I can also savor the experience of the first time viewing as long as possible. :)
