I can't stand it any more...

I have to post this. It's just too funny.

WARNING!

The following movie file contains juvenile infantile sophomoric humor about a certain televangelist.

I don't know which one, but he does make those faces... without the sound effects of course.

It should not be viewed by anyone who has any dignity at all.

Show Me Anyway

Well, I have a shred of dignity and watched--or does that mean I don't any more. *contemplates*

Some of the segments where very funny, and others. so-so.

I think I recognize that guy... Is he the one would would bless prayers that people sent in (along with cash of course), and then it was discovered he was dumping all the prayer cards in the trash, and just keeping the cash?

YAY!! I saw a similar thing when I was in college on a videotape that a friend had (though I don't know if it was exactly the same one), and it was entitled "Evangelical Gas." Hilarious. Thanks for posting it!

The televangelist is Robert Tilton. He was a complete scam artist, but LOADS of fun to watch. Back home (in the bible belt) one of our local stations broadcasted his show, and my brother and I used to watch him occasionally for fun... he makes very dramatic statements (and faces), speak in tongues, and our favorite part: sometimes he'd dump all the mail on the floor in front of his desk, roll in it, and shout prayers for all those that sent money. He would also remind watchers that God preferred $1000 donations. Heh...

Yep, that's the guy...quite sleazy indeed. I imagine he's not the only televangelist guilty of this either...

I guess he wasn't interested in converting poor people then.

I just saw the clip. Deeply disturbing.

I'd say that most of them were pretty dreadful, myself. It seems that most televangelists have some ulterior motive that tends towards material gain and not God's work.

The only televangelist I ever had a lick of respect for was Billy Graham. But the rest... Forget it. "Praise the Lord! Send in your money, so I can live in big house and drive BMW."

Eep!

*laughs and laughs and laughs* I wonder if I can set up Windows to start off with this every time I turn on the computer... I already have the whole "Oh no! The Matrix is empty!" wise Optimus Prime speech from Transformers: The Movie for my recycle bin sound...
