The tone is different when people write in journals.
It is possible to make private entries to the journal, by regulating the security option on the "write entry" page, and it is possible to set security level such that only the people you list as your friends can read the journal.
Most people have the problem you mentioned, that a journal may be too private for others to read, even a web journal like this. Maybe there is a balance to be struck between being too open and being too secret about what you write here. People seem to use the journals in many different ways, like scrap books or place to post short stories or art, not just the everyday events of life. If you look around at the other users who have the same interests defined as you, you'll probably see a lot of different journals.
There is no getting away from the teeny bopper crowd in here either, lots of journals are only about teachers and chewing gum and NSync. Thus, it may be up to the rest of us to keep the teeny bopper level as low as possible here. :)
The new entry page takes html, so you can post direct links to images and URLs in the journal. Links are only automatically made when using te Windows client (I think). I only use the web page as I don't want to dl a client.
To center images onto the page, put (center) before the image URL and (/center) after the URL.
I forgot to do that on my image of the zebrafish, so you can see how that turns out. :)
Good luck !
Sorry to hear about the expected discontent of the boss man. I know the feeling. Any way you can correct the info without him becoming too unhapoy about it ?
I agree with you on the issue of children. I guess it's different once you get your own.
Does the weekend visits mean we won't see you at the Friday night chat ?

Here's how to make a link to a URL:
(a href="http://www.nosgoth.net")Click here to go to Nosgoth(/a)
And to post an image in the journal (the image must be posted somewhere else on the web):
(img src="http://www.image.jpg")
Exchange all () with <>
To center images onto the page, put (center) before the image URL and (/center) after the URL.
