Interlude twixt departures

moonwiseI think I'm the only one on my flist who didn't get drunk on July 4th. XD
Lovely weekend though. We see fireworks in Red Bank on the 3rd, and it was very pleasant that my parents decided not to have Romper Room this year on the boat. (Usually, they invite my cousins and their multitudinous children.) Instead, our friends Pete and Pam brought their boat down the Navesink on their way out of Port Washington, and we took the dinghy and went to see them. Best seats in the house, even better than at the marina.
On the 4th, we did not much at all. I went into town and splurged on a pink and green Lilly Pulitzer sundress with a pattern of tigers playing cards. At 25% off, no better time to grab a bargain! We had dinner with my uncle and aunt and cousin Annette + family at the Deal Golf Club, and then that was that. Always sad and a little strange to go to the Golf Club - we went all the time when my grandfather was alive, and the same faces who were there when I was five are the same faces who are there now that I'm 29. Old ghosts.
Friday morning we leave for Maine, and I'm hoping for some warm weather, peace, and quiet. I'm taking the computer and my GoLive book, and maybe by the end of the trip, I'll have a handle on forms.
