No joy in Mudville
Oct. 20th, 2006 09:15 amOh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright,
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
And somewhere men are laughing, and little children shout;
But there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.
Poor ol' Mets! It's a sad day for NY.
But, I'm not a baseball fan anyway. XD I think this is the only reason I could move to the New England area and not get lynched.
Busy sports weekend ahead. RU plays Saturday night, and I'm divided on whether to suggest going to a sports bar or staying home, because last weekend was SO MUCH FUN. There were a ton of RU fans at the bar, all dressed up, and they'd obviously been to home games. When I yelled out "And THAT... was a RUTGERS..." they yelled back "FIRST DOWN!" NJ has been waiting a long time to have something to cheer about. XD Sunday is the Brazilian GP, and it's Michael Schumacher's last race, and I'm probably going to be all sad at the end of it. :( Monday night is the Giants game vs. Dallas, and it's a good thing it's on Monday night b/c otherwise we'd have a serious Sunday afternoon conflict of interest.
Husband was in Orlando on business until Monday, and that gave me a chance to get some cosplay work done without guilt. I got a lot of work done on the Anna costume and started Dive Bount, although it's limited to sitting in pieces on the stair rail at the moment, and I still have to finish marking the darts. Those little rolly-wheels with the marking paper are teh awesome.
Now I have to take some very fun training about our ordering system. Yay for working in industry!
