Husband and I decided to take advantage of the nice weather today and go for a bike ride along one of the local rail trails. We started out in Hillsborough and originally meant to go as far as Griggstown (about 5 miles), but it was too early for lunch. So, husband suggested we push on through Kingston all the way to Princeton (total about 16 miles) and at the end of the trip I was almost too sore to get back on the bike. But 16 miles up equals 16 miles back, and holy shit but I cannot walk right now, seriously. My knees are in a world of pain. Hoping to feel better in the morning.
We watched the Preakness later in the day, and I'm just brokenhearted over Barbaro's fracture. They're probably going to end up putting him down, if you read between the lines on the reports. It is always awful to see that happen in horse racing.
On a happier note, the "signature drink" at Pimlico is a lot tastier than a mint julep, and I encourage you to try a:
Black-Eyed Susan
1 oz vodka
1 oz medium rum
1/2 oz orange liqueur (such as triple sec or Cointreau)
3 oz pineapple juice
6 oz orange juice
cherry on top
