Web space

I'm gonna do it. I'm really really gonna do it; I'm going to get off my arse finally and buy some of my own personal space. It's about time. The site's (mostly) done, for the moment; I could continue to dither at it forever, but at some point you have to fish or cut bait. There are links to be exchanged and requests to be made for fics to host on the site, but without a site to sell, it's hard to convince someone that you're a good place.

I'm gonna break out the card, really really this time, and get somewhere to host some pics.

The big laugh of the day

One of our group members, CQ, defended his proposals today for his PhD. In short, you write a proposal and you present it to your committee, and they grill you about it. It's something like your candidacy exam, but they're more rigorous.

So. The exam is over, and Prof G (our prof) and Prof D are talking to one another - CQ is in earshot. Prof G is rubbing his neck, and he comments to Prof D that his neck is stiff (or something like that.) Prof D asks, "Did you take Viagra?"

CQ manages to keep a straight face until he comes upstairs. Then he told us about it.
