Oh Giants.

You stink.

You are finding new ways to stink, and through it all, like a bad relationship, I love you. Even though Kerry Collins (who I liked) was replaced by Kurt Warner and Eli Manning (who I don't like), I am holding out my faith for you.

And Tom Coughlin is an asshole and it makes me sad to think of Jim Fassel still commuting to Baltimore from Ho-Ho-Kus and driving by the stadium and missing the team.

It's going to be a long long long season.

...You know, with an attitude towards losing like that, you'd make a great NY Islanders hockey fan. Ever consider it? Here's hoping that all the teams (except the Rangers) go back to playing this year, though!!!! ...Wednesday seems to be the day their old agreement expires, so we'll have to see... and now I'm nervous!

My father couldn't watch the game after the first series. I can't believe they were that bad. O_O I think I need to get rid of Warner and get someone else to be Trent Green's backup on my fantasy league. My Chiefs lost too but they didn't embarrass themselves doing it, unless you count the ridiculous offensive holding penalties called on them that killed drives. Oh well. At least the defense made the Broncos punt a few times and intercepted Jake Plummer.

I think that if the current trend continues, that Coughlin will just line the team up behind the Meadowlands and shoot them all. Though, rumor has it that the team doesn't get on with Coach too well, and that can't make for a good situation.

Nothing like holding penalties to really screw the pooch! The Giants should know! We get them all the time!

I don't think I could handle any more NY stinkiness. ^_^; The Giants are bad enough.

Nothing like a few tight ends to make your day better. :)

Mmm yes, there is that rumor. It's a shame when a team won't play for its coach. The first year will be rocky for them, but next season should be better. Not all teams have the chemistry the Patriots or Chiefs have, and I'm not just saying that cause I'm a fan of those teams. In all honesty I don't think the Giants have liked a coach since maybe Parcells, and even that is a push.

The guy the Chiefs got from Philly, Welbourne, had three illegal hands to the face penalties, and Gonzalez got offensive pass interference called on him. I never understood that: how can the guy the QB is throwing the ball to be called for that? Makes no damn sense to me.

The way I've understood pass interference is the simplistic way that follows: the defensive player can't stop the offensive player from doing his job before he catches the ball (i.e. you can't haul on the WR's arm to keep him from catching the ball, but you can tip the ball or pounce on him once the ball is caught) and it's kind of vice versa for the offensive player. Which is to say that the WR can't shove the tackle away or give him the stiff-arm before the ball is caught. I'm sure there are about 10 things wrong with that analysis, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Here's a better explanation than mine:

Football Penalties (http://www.football.com/penalties/index.shtml)

This is all very important because I am going to be a NFL referee for my next career. I will have my very own call, "Making the Referee Cry," and the offending team will immediately forfeit. (In this case, I think the Giants will never win a game, because they make me cry all the time.)
