...who wished me a happy birthday. It means a lot! Thanks for remembering! :)

Been pretty quiet so far; I'm not the type to throw parties and we're just going out for dinner tonight. Wish I could think that husband bought me a PS2 but that certainly didn't happen. *sigh* I don't know if I'll ever get to play FFX or SR2. We'll visit the parents over the weekend and that will be that.

My dad came up to have lunch with me and brought me a flag. You can't get one for love or money these days. This sad old flag used to fly outside our house until it was replaced by a newer one - the folks never took it to be burned, so now I'll give it a wash and some love and use it for us. I'm just happy to have some colors to fly. :)

Located available copies of "However 1 & 2" doujinshi *drooooool* thanks to Fire Ceremony (go raibh maith agatsa!) Now to investigate international money orders before I get myself in trouble...

I got a reminder but I wasn't sure if you liked your birthday being shouted from the rooftops (as some people don't). Aww well, Happy Birthday and many more to come!

A note on the flag: if it's tattered, if it's faded.. it's better not to fly one at all. The flag you display, as a matter of respect and according to the flag code, must be in good condition, or you are not showing respect any more than the idiots who burn the flag or rip it.

Well, the flag isn't in rags - it has a little tear in one of the stripes, and I plan to mend it before putting it out. It's just an older model that got traded in for a flag that was once flown above the Capitol. I'd rather you didn't group me with flag-burners, thanks.
I hardly think I'm going to disgrace the country by giving Old Glory a little wash in Woolite and then hanging her out to dry.

My apologies if I offended you. I've seen enough of Old Glory in my neighborhood to suspect that many people resurrected flags that were supposed to be burned but weren't. It's a sore spot for me.. the flag should be a proud thing, and your referral to it as a sad old flag made me wonder.

Yep..this is defiantly late...
