Last day before a four-day weekend, so of course we're all doing squat today. We can't decide whether we want to try the Cuban place or just go to Friday's for lunch, since Friday's has a liquor license. It's so awesome that J&J gives us both Friday and Monday off.

Let's see.

I have gold paint all over my hands (Gooooooooldfinger! dun DUN dun) from painting Haibane halos and a few singes from the hot glue gun. My wings from Featherplace.com arrived, and I was not entirely satisfied with the way they looked. Of course, you get what you pay for. However, some white long quills and flats and the hot glue gun worked wonders, and now they look pretty nice.

Also altered the back of the shirt I bought. I still need to shorten the sleeves, but slashing the back was fairly easy. I reinforced the area with interfacing so it wouldn't fray and then measured one inch on either side of the centerline to cut. In retrospect, I should have zigzagged along the line and then cut the back open, because finishing the open edges pulled the fabric out of proportion somewhat, but it turned out OK. The automatic buttonhole foot r0x my socks and that was that.

Pictures are here and here.

We're off to Broomall this weekend for the 4th since my folks are out in Upstate NY somewhere. Dad Q got us tickets to the fireworks at Radnor, and Mom Q and I will probably spend the weekend finishing Missy's quilt.

Thanks to RV I have been engaging in rampant acts of copyright violation for DVDs I already own. I heart my new double layer DVD burner.

Oh yeah, have to pay Best Buy bill pronto.

Haven't been overmuch inspired to write much of anything recently. Guess there was something about sitting for hours in the library writing my thesis that encouraged fanfiction. Now, I'm spending more time thinking about which statistics class I might want to take in the fall.

Melissa had her baby (John Thomas. Really) and Brian's wife had her baby (Andrew Carlton.) Lotsa babies. SS and I were a little unsettled to realize that we're at that age where all our friends are popping out childrens. Nothing like that to make you feel like a tired old fart.

Is it lunchtime yet?
