My car is sick. :( Its little "check engine" light went on this morning and now I have to take it to the VW dealer.

I don't get something, though. When the car is out of windshield washer fluid, it knows it and produces an earsplitting beep that is remarkably effective at reminding the hapless driver to get some fluid ASAP to get the damn car to shut up. Because of that, you'd think that when the car had something truly SERIOUS wrong with it, then perhaps little flags would pop out of the dash or something. But no, no warning besides that insidious little light going on.

Off to Bernardsville to get the car fixed. I'm sorry, car! Please work! And forget all the times I yelled at you because you only take premium and only get 22 mpg.

Maybe not. My Acura didn't have engine problems, dammit.

On a random note, Excel Saga is well and truly fucked up. I like Ilapalazzo-sama.

One wonders whether the Will moonlights on South Park.

You have my sympathies. I, unfortunantly, wound up with a Lemon VW 2000 Bettle that's been in the shop more times than I've been in to get my hair cut. This latest bought with the "little Malfunction Indicator Light" cost me around $1,000. And the car is only 2 years and four months old, with 41,325 miles on it. *shrug* So I"m hoping to trade for a Honda CRV. ^^

I am so sorry to hear it. Car trouble really< stresses me out. I want the things to just work forever, without requiring gas or other maintenance. :)

The check engine light is a beacon for any
problems that occur. It's a sign that a mutitude
of things have went wrong, or are out of sync. It would
be nice if there were distinct warnings about what's
going on with your auto. Though if they actualy made
such an auto, the intstrument cluster would look like
it fit better on the star ship enterprise, or the
batmobile rather then your auto. This would then make the auto clearly out of anyones price range.
Something as simple as a loose gas cap can make this
light appear. At some time in the future, they may actually make an auto that isn't designed to fail. Though before that happens, it would be a good thing
to be on a good personal basis with a mechanic. It will lessen the amount of times little things cause
great bills to be paid in keeping our auto's dependable. =)
