Feb. 18th, 2003 06:10 pmMy luck for the winter has run out and I think I'm getting sick. General malaise, scratchy throat, only interest is sleeping for roughly five years... gack. Damn whoever gave me this bug.
Have been very bad about working on the thesis. Yesterday was of course a major distraction because of the two feet of white stuff outside, but that's no excuse for a weekend spent doing nothing productive. What is the MATTER with me?
We got socked along with the rest of the Eastern Seaboard, and the piles of snow outside are at least as tall as I am and very broad. We spent a good portion of yesterday shoveling the cars out and digging a path to the basement. All of this will be on the melt by Saturday, which should make for an interesting situation in terms of flooding.
Aside from a very mediocre dinner next door on Valentine's Day, nothing of any event has happened recently. Oh yeah, boss is in Hong Kong. I'm sure the lab was good and quiet today.
I really had intended to talk about the wonderment I felt at looking at a snowflake for the first time, but I'm just too blah to form reasonable words. *clunk* Ah, the joy of sixfold symmetry and hydrogen bonding.
