OK, These were a teensy bit better than what we have seen previously... some were great.
Heh heh heh, how do you know that Fujin is Japanese ? heh heh heh, she may just as well be Korean or Chinese ... ;)
Syd and Ashley deserve a pat b/c they tried to cosplay some rare chara with really difficult clothes...
OK, Seph #1 may be the best American Seph we've seen so far. The little female "I think any old white wig and black coat will make me look like Seph even if I'm 5'4'' and fat" is just... no, I have no words. Muse ran out to weep in the bathroom.
Hiroyuki Sakai ? Who's that ?
That Kuja is just... again, words fail me... I just know if I saw something like that Otakon I might faint. And not from joy.
Christian: Pork chops anyone ?
It may be me but the FF8 gang this time didn't look as bad as the others we've seen. I think I'm getting immune to this kind of sights now...
Hello Kitty... LOL !
Kiros: FANTASTIC ! Premium example of someone who's chosen a cosplay that fits them well and has managed to make a decent costume and gotten the pose down. This is how it's done ! (And what a cutie that was too)
I guess we can only hope and pray that the bespectacled Nida will appear at Otakon too... :)
Laguna... oh man... she and Seph #2 should be prohibited from cosplaying those chara ever again for all future...
Tifa makes me envious... damn I wish I could cosplay Tifa as good as that. Even her face looks a bit like how the art makes her look. Superb !
This was less of a "Bad Cosplay Award" and more of a "Some bad and some great" cosplays. :)
Oh, I don't know that the girl was Japanese... I guessed that she way b/c the pic was taken out in CA and there were a lot of Asian faces in the crowd for that 'Con (Fanime Con, I think.)
That pageboy wig was really just too much. I'm sorry for your muse. The other Seph was pretty good, he needed some hairspray for the bangs but the rest of the costume looked good. The only bad thing was that the butt at the edge of that pic belonged to Scary Kuja.
Last time's awards were really scraping the bottom, I couldn't find anything quite that bad this time. Except for Kuja.
Wasn't that Kiros just adorable? I loved it! He did a terrific job and seemed to have a good grip on his character.
You can play Tifa; that girl doesn't have huge gazoombas like Tifa does, and she looks great. If you wanted to go for that sort of authenticity, we'll buy some grapefruits. ;)
I saw that, the so so Seph may have been a buddy of scary Kuja.... heh heh
Yah, these awards were a bit above the rock bottom in the first batch of awards.
Kiros shows the importance of actually daring to do a nice pose... it makes the pic look so much better. :)
Heh heh grapefruits... ouch ! That could be very uncomfortable... I'd need a wig too though and that's not something I'm sure I want to do right now. I'll think about it.
Yeah. I think there's Iron Chef Chinese, Iron Chef Japanese, and Iron Chef Italian. I don't know the others' names; somehow, the challenger always chooses Sakai when I watch. It's a hysterical show. They tried to make an English version, and it just didn't work.
It wasn't that... the chefs really don't act, they just cook. It just didn't work. I can't describe why... part of the fun of the show was the dubbing and the peek into Japanese pop culture.
Wow... Galbadian soldier Kiros, too. :D Cool! And on the flipside... scary, scary Laguna. :P
Woo, I've seen that Sydney before, he's not bad! *mutters something about how she could make much cooler claws though; after all, she made Vincent's very easily, and would link to a pic if she wasn't afraid of becoming part of these awards* The Ashley's a new one though... hmm... I wonder what he looked like from behind. And that's curiosity talking, thanks. ;)
Nida's so cute! If I ever manage to run into him while cosplaying Mullenkamp, regardless of the different game worlds bit, I'm going to dance for him and make him join my cult. :D
*laughs* I wouldn't make you part of these awards... and besides, these pics are both the good and the bad. I can't say that the off-the-cuff pic my husband took of me as Reno is all that much better...
*grins* We can only hope that Arseley didn't make his costume TOO accurate. Having buttcheeks hanging out only works in video games. Or if you're Howard Stern (and if you know what I'm talking about, that was one scary superhero...)
How did you make Vinny's claws?
LOL! I think you'll have to wait in line to snag that Nida. :)
Well... if I'm safe... *winces and links* ...Technically it's better than a lot of the cosplay stuff out there, especially considering that it was sort of a last minute thing and the claw was all I really spent much time on. And basically, that took a nice sheet of hammered brass, and a bunch of those little brass paper fastener things. =) It was way too much fun.
Which is why I'm looking forward to someday doing the Mullenkamp costume... lots of metal things to make, between the headdress, collar, armbands, and bikini. =
Oh, I like it! You did a nice job, and no, I wouldn't have picked you for the Cosplay Awards. ;) It's pretty neat that you can metal-work like that.
You are braver than I if you'd go out in public in sth as revealing as Mullenkamp's outfit! But you'd be very popular, I'd imagine. I thought about going to Otakon as Princess Kida (from Atlantis) as a secondary costume, but the thought of wandering around in a bandeau top wasn't very appealing. :)
Well, the two big flaws of my body are that I'm kind of flat, and a bit underweight. The latter's sort of socially acceptable, at least more so than being overweight (though it pisses me off, but that's a long story). And really, I don't mind the former, because it means that uncomfortable bras are not necessary. ;) So basically I'm pretty comfortable with my body, and have no problem showing some skin. And I'm one of those people who will wear anything for a gag anyway.
Not to mention, it's my face that makes me ugly, and I go around showing that all the time anyway. :D
*claps very, very slowly* Yes, there's a... mixed reaction there... *grin* Sephy 2 scares the living hell out of me... but it's the Kuja that makes my skin crawl...

Re:
heh heh, I like their outfits. :D
So one of the Iron Chef's specialized in French cuisine and the other in other kinds of food ?

I guess this is a kind of thing which only works when you have certain chefs with the right charisma.
