I'm so weak.

I just bought Order of the Phoenix at the Wegman's.

And you know why?

Because I am such a freaking LEMMING and I CAN'T STAND BEING OUT OF THE LOOP GODDAMNIT

*pantpant*

I will have to finish The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass first, though, because those have to go back to the library.

EDIT:

Aaaaaand I see from the Almighty Friends List that I already AM out of the loop. Bah. I guess if you don't read the doorstop in one sitting, the world just passes you by. (and let it be said that yes, I can speedread.)

Our copy arrived yesterday (Amazon pre-order -- hoo-wah!). We also ordered a copy for Brian's parents (again, arrived yesterday), and his Dad is almost finished with it already... heh...

Brian will read it first, so likely, I'll be reading it late-ish compared to others out there. My only hope is that people on my friends list are careful with spoilers!

How do you like His Dark Materials so far?

So far the people on my list have been pretty careful. One hopes it continues.

I like the His Dark Materials trilogy very much - it's clean and simple and well-told. Pullman puts his story together very well. I'm looking forward to the next book.

We'll get a copy for the kids. Didn't have any reason to go to the store this weekend so we haven't gotten one yet though. And I understand they are all out for now anyway. I've read some of the others, again reading to the kids before bed. OK books, but not worth all the hype IMO.
