Another Inotek-induced rant, this one with vitriol.

What is the MATTER with you people? You've been looking at the same fricking MALDI mass spec for TWO YEARS. Count them. TWO. And NOW you mail me for help with the interpretation? What the hell? Haven't you seen this same pattern umpty-eighteen times? Can't you whip out your trusty calculator and start subtracting masses? I mean... this isn't even PhD material, this is SOPHOMORE ORGANIC.

I have a THESIS to write. Someday. And because you assholes are so completely INEPT, you're making YOUR problem MY problem thanks to my advisor who thinks nothing of dumping these troubles in my lap at the slightest provocation.

And not for nothing, but your own web site touts your skills as analytical chemists!! Ummmmm... not if you can't interpret one freaking mass spectrum!

OOOOOH! It makes me so MAD! *bangs on desk in frustration*

Is this a product that is in production, or some sort of prototype? In any event, I don't think I'll be investing in any stock for that company. @_X

Sounds to me like they should be paying your something for discovering they are full of doo-doo. Are they that incompetent, or just plain lazy or ???. I don't know about the masses, but apparently the gray masses in their heads are not function properly.

Or... Are they just a lab that analyzes things? *his ignorance is shining through like big beacon of light*

The upshot of it is that they are supposed to know how to do certain basic things, and they don't seem to have much mastery of them. What's annoying is that they should. They're supposed to be developing a compound as a drug, and that requires some analysis... which they can't seem to do. :P

At least the clinical trials will be done by someone else!

... if they get that far.

...and therein lies the problem, my friend. They're having some problems proving the compound.

All you need to really understand is that the people I've been working with don't seem to know how to do their job. :)

Rar! How fucking annoying. I'd write the company a letter. The execs should know what kind of worthless chumps they're paying. It's a waste of everyone's time, particularly yours!!

But yes - I'd love to give the feller who runs the analytical division a good talking-to, but they don't communicate with us at all except with it is a Total Crisis. Not very helpful.

And as

pipeandslippers noted, the tech is probably trying to protect his job. Perhaps he should learn to do his job if he wishes to keep it.
