Back from a long weekend
The title says it all. I just got back from spending a very pleasant weekend in the sun on our boat. The weather was hot as hell for two days, then an enormous storm system blew through. It was absolutely amazing to watch - you couldn't see anything outside because of the dense rain, and the thunder was deafening. Afterwards, it was much more pleasant to be outside.
We had fireworks on the 3rd. The same people who do the NYC show do a small show in Red Bank the night before. They really did a great job this year. One of the best rockets was a firework that exploded into the shape of a smiley face. It's so amazing that they can create such a thing!
Dragged the PSX along in hopes of playing FF8 during a lazy afternoon. No such luck. I ended up playing when I got home. My husband kept up a running commentary the whole time, reading the script in funny voices to be a pest. When I'd had enough, he started his own game just so he could name Squall "RatFace" and Quetzalcoatl "Sky Rat" and Shiva "IcyShorts." He cannot understand why I don't want to give my charas silly names, but I think I'll keep Ifrit as "Ifrit" and not "Fire Bix."

A storm... sounds interesting. Good to hear you weren't out at sea or hurt by it. Big thunderstorms can be a bit iffy I think.
Good to hear you had a nice holiday out in the boat and relatively good weather. Did you get to take a swim in the ocean ?
RatFace ? SkyRat ? IcyShorts ? Hmmm.... interesting names...
I avoided changing the chara names too just in case there would be problems following the guide when I needed it. Last thing you want to do when you're stuck is try to guess who should have done what if only you could remember who they were supposed to be.

We happen to own two PSX's because I had one and my husband had one before we got married. The one that belonged to me mostly gathers dust.
