I used to have a Hotmail account. But I just used it for an e-mail list I belonged to. Haven't used it in years. Matter of fact I'm sure it isn't active anymore. AOL is bad enough. Though all the spam goes to our main account that we don't really use. I use my screen name and D uses hers. So we just delete all the junk from time to time.
>:( Oh how nice of them to violate my personal privacy >.< Thanks for sharing that information with us, just had to uncheck the boxes in my own account. I had some spam the other day and I was wondering how they got my E-mail address, oh well I now know. Thanks again for sharing the information.
Yeah, I am really starting to get annoyed with it too, they keep sending me e-mails saying pay for more space and so forth. besides 2 megs is pretty small with the the damn spam you get. I have been using filters and that spam block, but you can do only so much!
First Yahoo, and now hotmail.... That might explain the spike in my spam...
I just love the philosophy that must be in place: Let's assume the user WANTS to be spammed to death! Either that or they are just greedy bastards looking for any way to make a few extra bucks. =P
I'm not a Hotmail user, but I can understand how annoying that would be. Spam just irritates me, lots of people sending me junk to waste my limited mail storage space.
I've had all sorts of rubbish, people trying to sell me insurance, diplomas, porn, more e-mail addresses, and once, someone tried to sell me a Priesthood. "Become a Priest, everyone has to call you 'Father', you can see any prisoners you want, don't pay TAX!". Ahem.
Hope you can work out a way to stop the spammers Arafel.
I'm not surprised that hotmail is doing that, it's happening all over the place. When you sign up for anything "free" there is always a hidden cost at some point or another. I never put any info of consequence in any "sign up" freebie, so all they'll get is a general demographic
I have the security settings set to "exclusive" on a few of my hotmail accounts and only see a minute amount of spam, other then microsoft's own.
My other accounts aren't set as high, and i get a fair amount of traffic in those, but hey,it's a small price to pay for an email addy that isn't your main address. :)

Thanks for the heads up... I just unchecked the boxes in my user profile.
