goodbye starships

Just watched the last shuttle launch here at work. I can't believe that the era of the starship is already over. Losing the space program makes me unutterably sad.

I'm ashamed that the US can no longer get into space unless they piggyback along with the Japanese, the Russians, or the Europeans.

I could go into a long-winded diatribe about the importance of looking outward towards exploration instead of inward, but it'll just get me all riled up. Suffice it to say that I agree with you wholeheartedly.

I remember the first space launch all those years ago and going to the moon. Makes me very sad that Americans and the govt can't see the value.
